They rarely appear in the game, only being found on top of The Dotwood Tree and can be found as enemies in areas such as The Dotwood Tree and the Overthere Stair. Lakitus appear again as enemies in Super Paper Mario. This game also introduces a new type of Lakitu that appears with an angry smile (along with his cloud), darker skin, and a red shell. Some Lakitus also appear with new unique designs as NPCs found in Rogueport ( Laki for an example). One became a fighter there as well, appearing as part of a group called the Spike Storm. Generic Lakitus can be found in Glitzville. Lakitus don't serve much purpose in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Lakilester, a Lakitu who was also working with the other Lakitus, betrays them and sides with Mario. Some Lakitus are even given speaking dialogs. Puff, who is of the Puff species and has his own plan besides guarding the Star Spirit: conquering the Flower Fields by covering their skies entirely with the Puff Puff Machine. In the game, they are enemies that appear only in the Flower Fields. There is no way to get down to the next floor without winning the battle, as the defeat of the enemies causes a Warp Pipe to appear out of the ground, leading to the next room of the pit.
